L&rsquo;ensemble est entour\u00e9 d&rsquo;une lumi\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<p> &nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>La structure continue est form\u00e9e d&rsquo;une unique couche de cellules jointives. Elles sont plus hautes que larges et poss\u00e8dent un noyau allong\u00e9 selon leur axe longitudinal. Il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;un <a href=\"\/codex\/glossaire\/glossaire-de-d-a-h#epithelium\" target=\"_blank\">\u00e9pith\u00e9lium<\/a> simple (ou unistratifi\u00e9) et prismatique (ou cylindrique).<\/p>\n<p>Deux cat\u00e9gories de cellules le constituent : <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999;\">&bull; <\/span>les cellules les plus nombreuses poss\u00e8dent une surface apicale formant un liser\u00e9 stri\u00e9 transversalement, au contact de la lumi\u00e8re ;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999;\">&bull; <\/span>les cellules moins fr\u00e9quentes pr\u00e9sentent une partie sup\u00e9rieure, apicale, en forme de poche ovale de couleur bleue.<\/p>\n<p>Le liser\u00e9 apical port\u00e9 par les cellules de la premi\u00e8re cat\u00e9gorie correspond \u00e0 une bordure en brosse \u00e9galement appel\u00e9e plateau stri\u00e9. Au microscope \u00e9lectronique \u00e0 transmission, elle appara\u00eet constitu\u00e9e de nombreuses microvillosit\u00e9s, replis membranaires soutenus par des faisceaux de microfilaments. Elle permet, dans un volume donn\u00e9, le d\u00e9veloppement d&rsquo;une importante surface de contact entre cellules et lumi\u00e8re.<br \/>\nLa poche ovale occupant l&rsquo;apex des cellules de la seconde cat\u00e9gorie r\u00e9sulte de l&rsquo;accumulation de substances synth\u00e9tis\u00e9es par la cellule. L&rsquo;analyse histochimique de ces substances r\u00e9v\u00e8le qu&rsquo;elles correspondent \u00e0 du mucus.<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;\u00e9pith\u00e9lium ainsi d\u00e9crit repose sur un tissu discontinu, dans lequel les cellules sont isol\u00e9es les unes des autres, s\u00e9par\u00e9es par des espaces contenant des structures fibreuses. Il est parcouru de vaisseaux sanguins.<br \/>\nIl s&rsquo;agit de <a href=\"\/codex\/glossaire\/glossaire-de-t-a-z#tissu-conjonctif\" target=\"_blank\">tissu conjonctif<\/a> fibreux l\u00e2che.<\/p>\n<p> &nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;association d&rsquo;un \u00e9pith\u00e9lium et d&rsquo;un tissu conjonctif fibreux, au contact d&rsquo;une lumi\u00e8re repr\u00e9sentant le milieu ext\u00e9rieur, d\u00e9finit une muqueuse. <\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;\u00e9pith\u00e9lium simple et prismatique comportant des cellules \u00e0 bordure en brosse et des cellules productrices de mucus est caract\u00e9ristique de l&rsquo;intestin gr\u00eale des Mammif\u00e8res, en l&rsquo;occurrence de Rat. Les enzymes digestives produites par le pancr\u00e9as y sont d\u00e9vers\u00e9es et r\u00e9alisent la d\u00e9composition des mol\u00e9cules alimentaires complexes en mol\u00e9cules simples et de dimension r\u00e9duite.<\/p>\n<p>Les mol\u00e9cules simples sont alors absorb\u00e9es par les ent\u00e9rocytes, qui les transf\u00e8rent aux vaisseaux sanguins ou lymphatiques du chorion, parfois apr\u00e8s modification.<br \/>\nLes villosit\u00e9s de la muqueuse et les microvillosit\u00e9s des ent\u00e9rocytes, par la surface de contact avec le contenu de la lumi\u00e8re importante qu&rsquo;elles d\u00e9terminent, contribuent \u00e0 augmenter la capacit\u00e9 d&rsquo;absorption de l&rsquo;intestin gr\u00eale.<\/p>\n<p>Les mucocytes lib\u00e8rent le mucus qu&rsquo;ils produisent \u00e0 la surface de l&rsquo;\u00e9pith\u00e9lium.
