La valve gauche est seule visible, la valve droite \u00e9tant plaqu\u00e9e sur le support sous le corps et la valve gauche.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 la mort de l&rsquo;animal, il arrive que la valve droite subsiste, adh\u00e9rant au substrat et \u00e9pousant sa surface.<br \/>\nSa forme est circulaire et pr\u00e9sente une large \u00e9chancrure au niveau de laquelle passe le byssus, qui contribue \u00e0 la fixation de l&rsquo;animal sur le support. Il a l&rsquo;aspect d&rsquo;un pilier et est calcifi\u00e9. Il diff\u00e8re par ces caract\u00e9ristiques du byssus fibreux d&rsquo;autres Mollusques bivalves comme la Moule, trait\u00e9 dans la page <a href=\"\/codex\/cabinet-de-curiosites-virtuel\/images-insolites-instructives\/la-moule-et-son-rocher\" target=\"_blank\">La Moule et son rocher<\/a> du Cabinet de curiosit\u00e9s virtuel de Codex virtualis.<br \/>\nFine et plate, la valve droite a une apparence nacr\u00e9e sur sa face interne. Elle porte une unique empreinte, marquant l&rsquo;insertion du muscle adducteur dont la contraction est responsable de la fermeture de la coquille. <\/p>\n<p> &nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;Anomie pelure d&rsquo;oignon est une esp\u00e8ce dans laquelle les sexes sont s\u00e9par\u00e9s.
