Il s&rsquo;agit plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment d&rsquo;une Ascidie de la famille des Ascidiid\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Les individus <a href=\"\/codex\/glossaire\/glossaire-de-a-a-c#adulte\" target=\"_blank\">adultes<\/a> m\u00e8nent une vie fix\u00e9e : ils adh\u00e8rent par leur r\u00e9gion basale \u00e0 des substrats solides, comme les rochers ou les pontons, fr\u00e9quemment dans des environnements vaseux.<\/p>\n<p>Ils sont install\u00e9s depuis la partie basse de la zone de balancement des mar\u00e9es, tr\u00e8s rarement d\u00e9couverte par la mer, jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 200 m\u00e8tres de profondeur.  <\/p>\n<p> &nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>La Phallusie est ais\u00e9ment identifi\u00e9e \u00e0 ses dimensions, sa forme, sa couleur et sa consistance.<\/p>\n<p>D&rsquo;une hauteur pouvant atteindre 150 mm, les repr\u00e9sentants de l&rsquo;esp\u00e8ce ont une forme rappelant une bouteille, renfl\u00e9e \u00e0 la base et \u00e9troite \u00e0 l&rsquo;apex.<br \/>\nDeux orifices sont pr\u00e9sents : un siphon inhalant ou buccal, situ\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 libre, et un siphon exhalant ou cloacal, localis\u00e9 sur le c\u00f4t\u00e9 \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s \u00e0 mi-hauteur.<\/p>\n<p>Le corps est envelopp\u00e9 d&rsquo;une \u00e9paisse tunique bossel\u00e9e et ferme, de couleur blanche, parfois bleu\u00e2tre. Elle est notamment compos\u00e9e de tunicine, mol\u00e9cule proche de la cellulose v\u00e9g\u00e9tale.<\/p>\n<p> &nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;esp\u00e8ce se nourrit de particules de petite taille en suspension dans l&rsquo;eau.<\/p>\n<p>Un courant d&rsquo;eau parcourt l&rsquo;organisme. L&rsquo;eau entre par le siphon inhalant, p\u00e9n\u00e8tre dans la lumi\u00e8re du pharynx, traverse la paroi de celui-ci \u00e0 la faveur des fentes qui la percent, puis sort par le siphon exhalant.<br \/>\nLa circulation est g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9e par les battements des cils et des flagelles pr\u00e9sents dans le pharynx.<\/p>\n<p>Un film muqueux aux propri\u00e9t\u00e9s adh\u00e9sives tapisse la paroi du pharynx au contact de la lumi\u00e8re. Il pi\u00e8ge les particules entra\u00een\u00e9es par le courant d&rsquo;eau et l&rsquo;ensemble est ensuite achemin\u00e9 vers la portion suivante du tube digestif qui assure la digestion et l&rsquo;absorption des substances nutritives.<\/p>\n<p>En raison de ce r\u00e9gime alimentaire, ces organismes sont qualifi\u00e9s de suspensivores ou de microphages filtreurs.<\/p>\n<p> &nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>La Phallusie est hermaphrodite. Chaque individu produit \u00e0 la fois des gam\u00e8tes m\u00e2les, les spermatozo\u00efdes, et des gam\u00e8tes femelles, les ovules.<br \/>\nIls sont lib\u00e9r\u00e9s dans l&rsquo;eau de mer, o\u00f9 a lieu la f\u00e9condation. <\/p>\n<p>Le <a href=\"\/codex\/glossaire\/glossaire-de-d-a-h#developpement-embryonnaire\" target=\"_blank\">d\u00e9veloppement embryonnaire<\/a> dure environ 24h.<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;\u00e9closion lib\u00e8re un t\u00eatard planctonique dont le corps est form\u00e9 d&rsquo;une partie globuleuse ant\u00e9rieure et d&rsquo;une queue post\u00e9rieure.
