Il est constitu\u00e9 de deux r\u00e9gions, p\u00e9riph\u00e9rique comprenant de nombreuses unit\u00e9s circulaires ou ovales de taille relativement importante, et centrale form\u00e9e de fibres enchev\u00eatr\u00e9es.<br \/>\nIl est entour\u00e9 d&rsquo;une fine couche fibreuse \u00e0 laquelle des structures allong\u00e9es semblent attach\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p> &nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Les unit\u00e9s circulaires ou ovales constituant la zone p\u00e9riph\u00e9rique de l&rsquo;organe contiennent chacune une structure centrale ou excentr\u00e9e, de forme ronde, de couleur claire et finement ponctu\u00e9e. Elle est entour\u00e9e d&rsquo;une couronne intens\u00e9ment color\u00e9e et l\u00e9g\u00e8rement granuleuse.<\/p>\n<p>Cette organisation est caract\u00e9ristique d&rsquo;une cellule animale : la structure centrale correspond \u00e0 un noyau et la masse granuleuse au cytoplasme.<\/p>\n<p>Les fibres de la zone centrale semblent \u00eatre des prolongements des cellules p\u00e9riph\u00e9riques. <\/p>\n<p>Cet agencement correspond \u00e0 celui des cellules nerveuses : elles comportent un corps cellulaire sph\u00e9rique ou elliptique, dans lequel est situ\u00e9 le noyau entour\u00e9 de cytoplasme abondant, et portent de fines expansions.<br \/>\nIl s&rsquo;agit de dendrites et d&rsquo;axones, les premi\u00e8res acheminant l&rsquo;information nerveuse vers le corps cellulaire et les seconds conduisant l&rsquo;information vers d&rsquo;autres cellules nerveuses ou des cellules effectrices p\u00e9riph\u00e9riques. Ils forment un <a href=\"\/codex\/glossaire\/glossaire-de-i-a-o#neuropile\" target=\"_blank\">neuropile<\/a> dans lequel les synapses sont nombreuses.<\/p>\n<p> &nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;organe comportant des corps cellulaires de neurones p\u00e9riph\u00e9riques et des expansions de neurones centrales est interpr\u00e9t\u00e9 comme un ganglion nerveux d&rsquo;un animal non Vert\u00e9br\u00e9.
